Percussion Itinerary 3/13

The Winter Percussion Ensemble will give an exhibition performance at the color guard contest at Lakewood HS on Saturday, March 13, 2010.

Itinerary:
Rehearse 9am-5pm
Dinner on your own 5pm-7pm
Warm-up 7:30pm-8:30pm
Perform 8:45pm

After we perform we will put instruments away and you are free to leave.

Symphonic Band Performance at Metro

Symphonic band students are to report to the band room after school on March 9th. We will bus the students to the King Center for a rehearsal. After the rehearsal, the boosters will feed the students pizza and the students will get ready for the performance. The concert starts at 7:00 pm. See everyone there.

Congratulations to the Concert Band and Symphonic Band

Congratulations to the Concert Band and Symphonic Band for their outstanding performances at the CBA regional concert band festival. The concert band received an excellent rating (II) and the Symphonic Band received a superior rating (I). The Symphonic band will have the opportunity to perform at the State concert band festival in April.

Auditions

Students have already received the audition materials. Auditions will take place on March 8,9,10 at LHS. Check the calendar for the exact date your instrument will audition. Students who wish to be in Symphonic Orchestra or Symphonic Band next year must audition. Contact Mr. Stephen if you need to get signed up for an audition time.

Symphonic Band Concert at Metro

Here are details about the upcoming Symphonic Band Concert (with Metro and Wheatridge HS) on March 9th at 7:00.  We will bus the Lakewood students to the King Center.

4:00 PM - WHS Rehearsal
5:00 PM - LHS Rehearsal
6:00 PM - Pizza Dinner for LHS and WHS (Metro State rehearsal)
6:40 PM - Open doors

7:00 PM - Concert starts

Dr. Kish from Metro is working on getting it so there is no charge for the concert.

Ask the students/parents to park in the Parking & Transportation Center (PTC) which is right next to the King Center (KC). The PTC is essentially a parking deck. When they enter the deck, take a ticket and park. Upon entering the King Center Concert Hall, pick up a Parking Voucher with the program for the concert. Give the Voucher and your Ticket to the parking attendant when you leave the deck for free parking.

Information about Grand Junction Trip April 15, 16, 17

Who: Students in Symphonic Band and Symphonic Orchestra will be going

Where: We will be staying at

How Much: The cost of the trip is $150. This will include buses, hotel, meals and admission into Glenwood Springs (Thursday).

When: We will leave LHS Thursday morning and return to LHS Saturday, late afternoon or early evening. Full itinerary will be coming later.

Why: Purpose of the trip- We will be participating in the Colorado West Invitational Music Performance Festival.
