Lakewood High School Concert Band |
|
Lakewood High School’s Concert Band aspires to the same levels of excellence
as the Symphonic Band, but is composed of students who do not wish to
participate in the Bengal Regiment. Costs LHS will charge a class fee of $100 at registration. There is no LPAC assessment. Rehearsals are held during the scheduled class time period. Additional rehearsals will be scheduled at the discretion of the Director, especially before competitions and public concerts. Section leaders will schedule their own sectional rehearsals. Attire for the Concert Band is formal concert dress: tuxedos for the men and black concert gowns for the women. Tuxedoes will be offered for sale in the $100-$120 range by Mr. Harris before the beginning of winter concert season. Gowns will be offered for sale for about $90 at the same time and are intended to be uniform throughout the ensemble. However, if a woman owns a slightly different style gown from a previous year it may be acceptable to continue using it. Payment for concert attire is to LHS and is not included in class enrollment fees. Trips are scheduled at the discretion of the Director. Travel expenses for local performances and competitions are included in the class fee. The costs of other trips, which may include lodging or airfare, are the responsibility of the participants. Individual costs may be reduced by earning Student Account Points through fundraisers.
